Candlewood Suites Raleigh Crabtree, an IHG Hotel

Older but clean and cared for property. Rooms are updated and overall taken care of. Huge suites, especially 1 bedroom setup. Good for the price especially as the area is becoming more populous. Kitchen suite was well equipped and appeared to be in working condition including a newer dishwasher. No complaints, and a good exhibit of how older IHG properties should be managed and ran. Note that there is some weekday construction with a bit of noise currently next door, but should be finished in upcoming months. Wasn't a bother to us even with window facing directly though.

Normally candlewood suites are great, clean, roomy, and comfortable. This locations needs assistance. The hotel is packed with dogs and animals. My room smelled of burnt fish and I was told that they were sold out, granted there was ample parking. When informed about the smell issue I was given an air contraption and a bottle of floor deodorizer. Having small children and a pregnant wife this is a no go. The front desk woman was nice about it but it appears that this is an ongoing issue as she did not try to come up to the room and troubleshoot the issue or see for herself. No offer of additional room or to call another hotel for me just the loud air blower and carpet deodorizer

Stayed at this hotel for work, and had the worst service ever. I am a young single woman I have a broken ankle and they put me on the 3rd floor . I said okay your rooms are obviously full went to the 3rd floor I asked for towels and pillows to be brought up. I asked for towels earlier when downstairs but on my knee wheel I just can't carry them upstairs with my purse. Front desk lady had black hair and the WORST attitude. 1 hr later, She BANGED on my door 8x when I said one second ( take me a minute to get up and on my foot with it like this. She then is PULLING on the door handle. ( i have a glass on it so if an intruder does it i wake up ) She then very ANGRY says here I can't be coming up and dropping things off l. I then ask if their is a broom since she shattered the glass and again she says I can't help you. I said fine I will push it against the door then I check out tomorrow. Very ANGRY she walks away. I push the glass away ( on my hands and knees which is hard with my ankle) she then about 30 is mins layer bangs again, raddles handle and says here you can leave it out your door when dead. I said okay and close the door cause I'm annoyed but if you are busy okay. I close my door and she is talking to someone about how I am a PAIN in the @** and LAZY and RUDE. WHAT??? Me ? I just delt with your attitude and said nothing. RUDE EXPERIENCE would NOT stay again and there is no one else ro talk to about the service. If it wasn't a work trip I'd get a different hotel. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
